Different construction techniques for doors and windows can produce varying decorative effects. This not only affects the overall aesthetic appeal of the interior but also plays a crucial role in our daily safety and living experience. The quality of door and window installation not only impacts their overall performance—such as sealing, sound insulation, and thermal insulation—but also influences the progress of subsequent renovation work.

Before the doors and windows are delivered and installed, these details must be carefully taken care of!
1. After the newly purchased doors and windows are delivered to your home, consumers need to inspect the condition of the products. First, check whether the quantity and specifications of the doors and windows you purchased match the order, whether there is any damage, and whether there are any scratches.
2. Remove the protective film from the new windows. Before installing the new windows, you’ll need to remove the protective film from the exterior side of the window frame, window sashes, and glass (the film on the interior side can be removed either after installation or before moving into your new home). The purpose of doing this is to prevent the film from sticking due to prolonged exposure to sunlight and rain, which could detract from the window’s appearance.
3. Remove the old windows and clean the installation openings. Generally, old doors and windows that need to be replaced at home should be removed before the new ones are installed (though removing them too early may allow water to enter the installation openings). When cleaning the openings, the smoother the installation openings are, the easier it will be to fill and seal them later, and the lower the risk of leaks will be.

While installing doors and windows into the walls is certainly important, the subsequent acceptance inspection after installation is equally crucial and must not be overlooked.
01 Inspection: Gaps in doors and windows
The gaps between door and window frames and the walls significantly affect both the aesthetic appeal of home decoration and the overall airtightness of doors and windows. Once installed, aluminum alloy doors and windows should close tightly and feature uniform, even gaps. The filling material used to seal the gaps between door and window frames and walls must be elastic, and these gaps should be completely filled without any visible cracks.
02 Inspection: Functionality of Doors and Windows
Checking the functionality of doors and windows—such as their sealing performance and sound insulation—is primarily aimed at ensuring a comfortable user experience and long service life in the future. First, you can check whether there are any noticeable gaps between the sash and frame or between sashes when the door or window is closed; also ensure that the seals remain tight and are neither loose nor exposed. Next, verify that the door or window frame and sashes are properly aligned and vertical.
Whether they are casement or sliding doors and windows, you should check whether they open and close smoothly, whether the surfaces of the doors and windows are smooth and flat, whether all hardware accessories are complete, whether their positions are correct, and whether they are securely installed...
The flexibility of doors and windows is primarily assessed by checking whether the window or door sashes open/push and slide smoothly, and whether the locks operate effortlessly. For casement or sliding windows, open and close the sashes repeatedly to see if they’re too loose or too tight. If they’re too loose, it may indicate a problem with the seal’s integrity; if they’re too tight, it could mean that the window frame and sash aren’t properly aligned, or that components such as lock latches, pulleys, or slide supports haven’t been properly adjusted. Should any issues arise during the inspection, promptly contact the retailer for immediate corrective action.
We can test the window’s sealing performance using the method shown in the video below: Place a standard A4 sheet of paper between the window sash and the window frame, then close the window. After closing, see whether you can pull the A4 paper out smoothly. In a well-sealed window, the A4 paper will remain completely stationary—only if it’s torn would it move.
03 Inspection: Appearance of doors and windows
In addition to checking the details and functionality of doors and windows, their appearance is equally essential. Doors and windows serve as the face of your home, and their visual appeal directly influences how we perceive the space. Therefore, when inspecting doors and windows, we must carefully examine their appearance and color. For aluminum alloy doors and windows, the exterior should appear clean, flat, smooth, and uniformly colored, ensuring that there are no signs of rust, scratches, or dents.
